Def Leppard are one of the most amazing bands to emerge from the Brittish heavy metal scene from the 1980’s and brought big guitar riffs, intense melodies and a layered well produced sound to their music that made them a mainstay of rock n roll history. The band formed in 1977 in Shefield, England, with their breakthrough release of Pyromania in 1984. With the release of Hysteria in 1987 they had reached legendary status.
Hersteria are the first and only all female rock bands who are a tribute band to Def Leppard. They pour their hearts out to carrying on the sound and performance of Def Leppard not only with their music, but costumes and stage show. They formed in 2025, when guitarist Nicole Frost came up with the idea, made some phone calls, and put the band together including Grace on lead vocals. The band is from the Chicago area.
Hersteria are currently on a United States tour. They will include a stop in Ohio, on August 29th, when they play Nashville Nights in Akron.

The members of Hersteria grew up listening to 80’s metal music, and Def Leppard was at the center of the music world, so bringing their music out in a tribute band made the right choice. “Most of the members of the band grew up listening to 80’s hair metal and we wanted to bring back those iconic anthems. Def Leppard has always been nostalgic for a lot of people and no other female band had paid tribute to them yet! It was important for us to continue to showcase their sound and inspire the younger generation.”
In creating a Def Leppard tribute band gave Hersteria the chance to bring their music, show, and legacy to life and help spread their music to the new generation of music fans. “It’s always been our thought that if you wanted to just listen to Def Leppard, you would put on the record at home or in your car. Buying a ticket to a show should mean you are getting an experience. To us, that means you are getting costume changes, background visuals, fog, lights, choreography, ect. We want the audience to participate and feel like they’ve been transported back in time. We try to stick to the live versions of Def Leppard shows, while also adding some flare of our own! Besides the obvious fact that we are all female, the members of Hersteria are part of a younger generation. We bring a TON of energy to the stage right from our opening song and we encourage the crowd to be a part of the show. Expect to be transported back to the 80’s and Rock Rock Till You Drop!”
“We really want to encourage and inspire young women to go out and follow their dreams of playing an instrument or being in a band. A. lot of women get intimidated to join a band because the music scene has always been saturated with men. Starting an all-female band was a way to overcome that and we really want to prove that women can rock just as hard, if not harder!”
