OUTRUN INFINITY FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC!
Outrun Infinity are one of the hottest bands around as they started in Western Pennsylvania during the covid era and have since relocated to Philadelphia where they are now making their impact on the music world with intense alternative rock with high energy shows and an intense sound with a must see show. The band are about to unleash their new recording in August and playing plenty of live shows in support.
The band began in 2020 with Emory Shrock on guitar, Si Sorris on bass, Joey Dickson on drums and Erin brickle on vocals and guitar. They released their debut EP Make This Hell a Home in 2023 with audio engineer Josh roman producing the release. They are back in the studio and have a new release slated for August delivering their intense sounds inspired by Green Day, Pretty Reckless, and Avenge Sevenfold to name a few of their inspirations. “Our name was inspired by the idea that even though nobody can live forever, art provides people with a way to pursue immortality. Long after we’re dead and gone, we hope that someone will still be out there enjoying the music we’ve created.”
“First and foremost we’d love the world to know who we are! Our names are Emory, Erin, Joey, and Josiah and we’re four friends from western Pennsylvania that came together over our shared love of music. Over the past 4 years as a band we’ve worked on developing our sound and creating music that we love (and that we hope everyone else loves as well!). All of us have been passionate about music since we were kids, and we grew up learning our respective instruments. Outrun Infinity originally formed just because we loved playing music together, but once we started trying to write our own material we realized that we could also make the songs that we wanted to hear. To this day our main goal is to create music that feels true to us, that stands out from the crowd, and that we enjoy listening to and performing.”
“In terms of our sound, we draw from a lot of different musical influences. Green Day and The Pretty Reckless have probably had the biggest impact on our style, but we’ve been inspired by everything from ABBA to The Offspring. Our lyrics are heavily inspired by our personal relationships and life experiences – if we have a story that we feel needs to be told, it will most likely end up in a song at some point.”
Outrun Infinity have a busy summer and will be releasing new material in August. “We’ve definitely got a busy summer ahead of us. In August we’ll be recording our first vinyl record (which you can customize and preorder from our LinkTree!) in New York City, recording tracks for our upcoming second EP, and playing a few shows throughout Ohio. In particular, we’re hoping that with this set of shows we’ll be able to expand up into Cleveland and bring our music to a whole new group of rock fans.”
“We have recently moved to Philly and have been working to establish ourselves out here. We are starting our first tour here this Friday the 31st in Kearny NJ which the second to last show on this leg of the tour is Buzzbin. We are about to release a one of a kind vinyl record through Leesta Vall recording we have pre-order info in our link tree and at our merch booth at shows. Going to be hitting the studio at the end of August too to drop some new music we are going to be debuting at these shows. We go to Mind Rocket Studios in Westmiddlesex PA. Josh Roman did our last EP and he is amazing to work with. We will also be playing the first ever Penguin Palooza in Youngstown which we are super excited for.”
“We first started playing as a group during the summer of 2020. All of us were back in our hometown due to the pandemic and since we didn’t have anything else going on we decided to keep ourselves busy by starting a band. However, as soon as we started writing our own material we pretty quickly realized that this might be more than just a way to pass the time. When the four of us get together to write a song, it’s a very natural process where we can bring our skills and ideas together to create something great. If any of us ever get stuck or can’t find the direction a song should in, it’s usually just a matter of sending an idea to somebody else in the band and letting them build on it and before long we have a new song. We hope that as we continue on our journey as a band we’ll be able to create a strong community of friends and fans that can relate to the experiences we write about and respect us as musicians. For us, the best feeling is knowing that our art has connected with somebody in some way, so as long as we’re able to continue spreading our music and reaching the people that feel that connection we’ll be incredibly happy.”
Speaking of their debut release, “Our first release is a 5-song EP called Make This Hell a Home that takes listeners through the five stages of grief. While these stages (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance) are usually associated with death or the loss of a loved one, we thought it would be interesting to explore other scenarios in which people might also experience these stages. One song proclaims the narrator’s anger about being treated unfairly in a relationship while another song investigates the feeling of clinging to the past in an attempt to hold onto the innocence of childhood, and overall we wanted to try to capture this intense and complex process in a somewhat unconventional way.”
